Type "C" Hand Flare, Red

This "Type C" pull-wire ignited hand flare is red in color, burns for 60 seconds and has a light intensity of 15,000 candela. . It is drip proof while burning to ensure the safety of the user. Transport Canada, SOLAS and USCG Approved.

A hand flare is a pyrotechnic signal designed to be handheld throughout its burning time. Use it when you can see the rescue vessel approaching you. The red flare has a light intensity of at least 15,000 candela and a burning time of at least 60 seconds. The flare can be seen up to 6 nautical miles at night and 1 nautical mile in daylight.

Used widely in commercial fishing, shipping, coast guard, charter, cruise line and commercial marine industries, training schools, etc... the COMET hand flare offers performance, safety and value.

Product Applications:
COMET hand flares, red, are provided on the ship’s bridge (12 pcs.), in liferafts and lifeboats (each 4 pcs.).

Remarks
*Do not use handflares after date of expiry.
